- DOCTOR WHO THEME for WINDOWS '95
- by Michael Lee
-
- Welcome to the Doctor Who Theme for Windows 95 Plus!. I hope you enjoy this little
- theme pack that I've put together to celebrate the adventures of everyone's favourite
- Time Lord.
-
- If you're using Winzip to decompress the file, then extract all files to
- your root directory (usually c:\ ). Winzip should then automatically put all
- of the files into the necessary directories.
- ****CARE****
- The file "logo.sys" is used as the Windows 95 start up screen. The version in the theme
- replaces the one you are currently using. It should be placed in your boot directory
- (which is usually c:\ ). If you want to keep your existing start up screen, in case you want to
- reuse it later, then rename the existing logo.sys file first.
-
- The files "logos.sys" & "logow.sys" are used as the Windows 95 shut down screens. The versions
- in the theme replace the ones you are currently using. They should be placed in your windows
- directory (which is usually c:\windows ). If you want to keep your existing shut down screens,
- in case you want to reuse them later, then rename the existing logos.sys & logow.sys files
- first.
- ************
-
- If unzipping and installing the files automatically doesn't work then the files
- should be placed as follows:-
-
- Doctor Who.theme to c:\program files\plus!\themes (or wherever you keep your .theme files)
- Dr Who.scr to c:\windows\system (or wherever you keep your screen savers)
- all other files to c:\program files\plus!\themes\Dr Who
-
- If you don't have Windows Plus! installed you then need to use Control Panel
- to change your cursors & system sounds. Use desktop properties to change the
- wallpaper, screen saver & fonts. You can't change the icons without an icon
- changer, such as Microangelo, which can be downloaded off the web.
-
- ********************************************************************************************
- IF YOU'RE STILL USING WINDOWS 3.1 THEN YOU CAN STILL USE SOME OF THE THEME FILES TO
- CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR DESKTOP
-
- Put these files in the following locations
-
- Dr Who.scr to c:\windows (or wherever you keep your screen savers)
- tardis.gif should be converted to .bmp format and saved to c:\windows (or wherever you
- keep your wallpapers)
- *.cur to wherever you keep your cursor files
- *.ico, *.icl, *.icn to wherever you keep your icon files
- *.wav to wherever you keep your sound files
-
- Use the Windows Control Panel to change the wallpaper, sound, screen saver & cursor settings.
- Use File, Properties to assign the icons to your favourite programmes.
-
- ********************************************************************************************
-
- Many of the files I've used in this theme have been lifted off the web. Many thanks to
- all the folks who originally created them.
-
- You should note that the images used in this Theme are copyrighted to
- the BBC. I have created the theme for fun, and am in no way
- attempting to usurp their rights. The file is presented to you as freeware
- and should not be distributed for profit or gain.
-
- Enjoy!
