  1. DOCTOR WHO THEME for WINDOWS '95

  4. Welcome to the Doctor Who Theme for Windows 95 Plus!. I hope you enjoy this little 
  5. theme pack that I've put together to celebrate the adventures of everyone's favourite
  6. Time Lord.

  8. If you're using Winzip to decompress the file, then extract all files to
  9. your root directory (usually c:\ ). Winzip should then automatically put all
  10. of the files into the necessary directories. 
  11. ****CARE****
  12. The file "logo.sys" is used as the Windows 95 start up screen. The version in the theme 
  13. replaces the one you are currently using. It should be placed in your boot directory
  14. (which is usually c:\ ). If you want to keep your existing start up screen, in case you want to 
  15. reuse it later, then rename the existing logo.sys file first.

  17. The files "logos.sys" & "logow.sys" are used as the Windows 95 shut down screens. The versions
  18. in the theme replace the ones you are currently using. They should be placed in your windows
  19. directory (which is usually c:\windows ). If you want to keep your existing shut down screens,
  20. in case you want to reuse them later, then rename the existing logos.sys & logow.sys files
  21. first.

  24. If unzipping and installing the files automatically doesn't work then the files 
  25. should be placed as follows:-

  27. Doctor Who.theme to c:\program files\plus!\themes (or wherever you keep your .theme files)
  28. Dr Who.scr to c:\windows\system (or wherever you keep your screen savers)
  29. all other files to c:\program files\plus!\themes\Dr Who
  30.  
  31. If you don't have Windows Plus! installed you then need to use Control Panel
  32. to change your cursors & system sounds. Use desktop properties to change the
  33. wallpaper, screen saver & fonts. You can't change the icons without an icon 
  34. changer, such as Microangelo, which can be downloaded off the web.

  37. IF YOU'RE STILL USING WINDOWS 3.1 THEN YOU CAN STILL USE SOME OF THE THEME FILES TO
  38. CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR DESKTOP

  40. Put these files in the following locations
  41.  
  42. Dr Who.scr to c:\windows (or wherever you keep your screen savers)
  43. tardis.gif should be converted to .bmp format and saved to c:\windows (or wherever you 
  44. keep your wallpapers)
  45. *.cur to wherever you keep your cursor files
  46. *.ico, *.icl, *.icn to wherever you keep your icon files
  47. *.wav to wherever you keep your sound files
  48.  
  49. Use the Windows Control Panel to change the wallpaper, sound, screen saver & cursor settings. 
  50. Use File, Properties to assign the icons to your favourite programmes.
